Like I said, two for one! I went to two Winterlicious restaurants this year, which makes some pretty interesting opening post for 2018 I guess. Either way, here we go!!
Cluny. What can I say about Cluny, other than I’ve been trying to get it on the list for any of my ‘licious adventures… and my friends haven’t said yes till this year. Go Curiosity (fist bumps ftw)!! I have to say, it is pretty much everything I hoped it would be, so clearly I’m not disappointed in any way. The interior wasn’t what I thought it would be, probably because I wanted to be as surprised as possible and avoided pictures. Ha. Either way, Cluny makes me think I’ve left Toronto and was eating somewhere in the south of France or something. Given I’ve never been to France, my imagination might not be as helpful… or that indie movie Colin Firth was in with Emma Stone… Either way…
Let’s get the show on the road!

First post of the year! (Wow, its February already…). Welps, I continue to be unreliable with posting I see. But have no fear (well, I’m sure you had no fear to begin with), I am back with not one but two posts. That’s right, you heard it here first folks! That’s two posts! Two! Anyway, enough showboating, let’s get this show on the road.
LaughlivEat and I went to Mezza Notte Trattoria. It’s close to home, so guaranteed to get home at a reasonable hour, since we decided to check it out on a weeknight. It was kind of unexpected to find an Italian restaurant between Finch and Sheppard on Yonge, given we usually think of that street as filled with Asian food. It looked like a cozy restaurant, which does the name “trattoria” justice I suppose.
So very obviously, we visited this restaurant during Winterlicious. As much as Winterlicious advertises itself as a cost efficient way of trying out the various restaurants in Toronto, the prices have made it kind of sceptical for a lot of people. Anyway, on with the food!

Another week another Meal Deal. I wish I was that efficient haha.
So in a strange turn of events, the NSSSO wanted to go downtown for brunch. Colour me surprised was pretty much my only reaction to the suggestion. But hey, why not, especially if he was in the mood. So, he took me to a new restaurant at Harbourfront. I was just glad that it was a beautiful day, if it had rained then it would have wasted the beautiful patio area that Joe Bird featured. I’m a sucker for the industrial look (trying to convince the NSSSO that a concrete wall in the bedroom would be awesome), so the place appealed to me on looks alone. What would the food be like? I was told chicken, chicken and more chicken.

So if you follow me on Instagram (which you totally should…. link) then you know that I’ve just celebrated my birthday!!
To be fair, the celebrating is still happening as my friends are still booking dinner dates (wink). The amount of food and desserty things that I’ve eaten this year is far larger than I want (recently gained a lot of weight… like a lot), but I’ve decided that birthday food = no calories (excellent adulting). So below the cut is just a brief overview of what I’ve eaten so far.
So, Summerlicious might be over this year, but it doesn’t mean that the reviews have stopped!
I went with a bunch of friends (including Laugh Live Eat )for our yearly Summerlicious excursion. This year, we tried a Japanese Izakaya, which I’m not generally for. This is usually because if I’m going to eat little bits of appetizers during Summerlicious, I might as well get the full feel of them during a regular meal. But, the menu looked intriguing enough for me to say yes.
