The season of Summerlicious is upon us so special posting schedule of two this week!
I went to Café Boulud for dinner with Laughliveat and checked out their Summerlicious menu. This is a restaurant that I’ve always wanted to try so I was really excited to check it out. The two of us met up at Bay station and noticed that our outfits matched. Clearly it was a good omen. We got a tad lost when we entered the restaurant, just because the entrance we used said D Bar, but a lovely hostess directed us upstairs to Café Boulud.

So, Summerlicious might be over this year, but it doesn’t mean that the reviews have stopped!
I went with a bunch of friends (including Laugh Live Eat )for our yearly Summerlicious excursion. This year, we tried a Japanese Izakaya, which I’m not generally for. This is usually because if I’m going to eat little bits of appetizers during Summerlicious, I might as well get the full feel of them during a regular meal. But, the menu looked intriguing enough for me to say yes.

Wow I’ve been remiss in my blogging duties. The NSSSO reminded me the other day that I had blog that I am responsible for… not just the eating part. So here I am, making up for lost time (?), if this counts in any way that is.
My first post this summer is the new(ish) Japanese Izakaya in what is now known as Downtown Markham (I have yet to figure out where Uptown Markham is… although there are signs eluding to it… perhaps they are condos…). It was an experience for sure. We tried to make a reservation for Friday night, and lo and behold, we were told they were completely booked. Is this restaurant really that good? We tried again on a weekday and got a reservation.
It’s a nice place, I want to say modern… but what place isn’t nowadays? Instead, I’m going to paint you a picture with nothing and say that it reminds me of a larger more expensive looking version of Guu. Where Guu has wooden tables and a lack of seating area, Kiu has seating in spades. A sushi bar is set to one side so you can watch them as they work. The kitchen is open for all to see, hence they added bar seating there. The experience is sort of like being sat at a chef’s table.

A Meal Deal right before Curiosity heads off to her overseas adventure (WoOt!). So look forward to another Vacay Mayday post!
Had lunch with a friend before the NSSSO and I started our last minute packing panic (most disorganized the NSSSO and I have every been). Tried out a new Japanese Izakaya (which I’m starting to think is really just a way of saying NOT AYCE) in Scarborough. I liked it when I saw it. They went extremely contemporary, which I wasn’t expecting because the plaza is not known for outstanding… anything. Let’s just get on with the Meal Deal shall we?

Hello Everyone! I have clearly broken my new year’s resolution already… seeing as how I haven’t come up with a post (Meal Deal, Recipe, etc.) in AGES! But…HAVE NO FEAR! I’ll post today and tomorrow to make up for all the posts that I have missed!
So I did several Winterlicious restaurants, which I know is waaay too late now for anyone to try… maybe for Summerlicious?
Anyway, onwards to this post shall we?
