Another week at Curiosity to the Oven! My NSSSO decided that date night was imperative, mostly because I’ve been stressed and overworked. And I may or may not have mentioned that we haven’t had a date night in a while… oh yes passive aggressive comments (Go Me!). So, he dressed up (his version of dressing up), told me my work clothes were fine and drove me to a restaurant I had never heard of.
We arrived at a plaza in Scarborough and I looked around. It’s usually strange that he discovers restaurants (it’s usually me), and it’s strange that it’s out of York Region (because we are lazy and travelling south always feels too far). But I’m generally game for anything (that actually means that I’m terrible when it comes to surprises and I ask so many questions that a lot of people give up and just tell me).
Remezzo wasn’t much to look at. I definitely stood in front of it and went “hmmmm” before I walked in. It is so quaint on the inside. The restaurant was on the dark side, but it had all this wallpaper that I imagine would exist in a British Grandma’s(because Netflix is never a good indicator of what British lifestyle is…) house. Despite that, it was very “Old Boys Club” with the wood trim and the low lighting. I almost expected someone to take out a cigar. Remezzo is also extremely spacious. None of the tables were so close that the backs of chairs touched, and you didn’t have to try to flatten your stomach to walk between tables. That remains amazing to me.

Two out of Two ladies and gentlemen! I had a mini reunion with my University friends and well, Summerlicious kind of happened with it. After much debate, we settled on Bier Markt, located in Shops of Don Mills. Seeing as how none of us have ever visited this lovely shopping establishment, we got lost quite quickly (of course). But nevertheless! We forged ahead (and got very distracted by shopping along the way).
Bier Markt is located among other restaurants, which lets patrons decide what to eat (I guess). I quite enjoyed Bier Markt’s interior. It was very eclectic, a good mix of bar and restaurant. I also assume they have a lovely patio, as I could only see it and not sit in the beautiful blinding sunshine.

Two for one this week (because I’ve been a bad person and forgot to blog last week… darn RL getting away from me).
This one is my Summerlicious meal at Wish. It was a lovely little restaurant (doors to the bathroom misled me into thinking that it was larger). I definitely scoured their website prior to going to check out the restaurant and it was more charming than their website lead me to believe.

Time for my Summerlicious Meal Deal Reviews! Round one goes to O&B Café Grill!
The entrance always looks unassuming at best. Granted, I’m excellent at getting lost at Bayview Village, so maybe it’s just me who thinks that. The inside of the restaurant was quite loud for the chic looking bistro that was O&B. We had all the ambience making basics: low lighting, casual bistro atmosphere, beautiful shelves holding quaint knickknacks, etc. The restaurant was larger than I expected (double doors can hide a lot!).

Curiosity recently discovered a lovely little dessert place in Richmond Hill by the name of Sweet Note. The selection was quite limited but the atmosphere and the food made up for it in spades. But the soufflé was quite lovely.
